The National Network for the Arts in Health is dedicated to the needs of the Arts in Health field and responding to the needs of its members. The organisation is run with enough flexibility that the benefits to NNAH membership are often tailored to each member.

Library
The NNAH Library is one of the largest consolidated arts in health resources in the UK. It contains information about individual artists, grant-making directories, arts in health publications, project reports, research and evaluation reports, conference reports, articles and specialist press, arts and health industry journals and booklets, journals from other national membership organisations, transcripts of speeches, videos, cassettes, and many other important resources.

If you wish to use the NNAH library and reading room for research purposes, attendance is by appointment only, Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm.

NNAH Information Packs
NNAH creates bespoke information packs from resources contained in the NNAH library and archive, which provide members and non-members alike with specific or general enquiries, a factual foundation.

NNAH Mainstreaming
As an Arts in Health network with members from across the UK and internationally, NNAH appreciates a perspective that no other organisation interested – or working within this field of practice has. NNAH helps mainstream Arts in Health through raising its public profile on a national, regional and grassroots level.

NNAH staff travel widely, visiting projects. The information gathered through these meetings directly feeds into briefings with government departments, NGOs, and funders. NNAH informs policy makers how this field of practice feeds into broader government agendas. Likewise, policy makers relay to NNAH what information and evidence they require. NNAH can filter this down to its membership, then later feed the answers provided back to the top.

The Department of Health, Department for Culture Media and Sport, Department for Education and Skills, Home Office and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, are all interested in how the arts can impact on health and education targets.

The perspective NNAH has on the Arts in Health field becomes more critical in assisting government departments, NGOs and funders to navigate the field effectively. Further, as government targets can shift and change, NNAH is well placed to represent and advocate for the contribution of Arts in Health practice to new areas of priority or focus.

The National Network for the Arts in Health is an information and resource broker. As interest in this area of practice has grown, individuals and organisations have turned to NNAH for practical guidance. Capacity building is vital as increased activity expands the visibility of this area of work.
